Art By Kelly Leigh

Kelly Leigh is an Ojibwe artist from Anishinaabeg of Naongashiing (Big Island First Nation), I'm passionate about sharing my culture and creativity with others. My business, Art by Kelly Leigh, showcases my unique blend of traditional and contemporary art, from paintings and beadwork to custom signs and jewelry.

Inspired by my family and community, I've been drawing and creating since childhood. Today, I'm a proud mother of four boys and a thriving artist, with my work featured in many different community projects.

Some projects Kelly has had the honour to work on:

  • Creating artwork for the Treaty Three Police Service Spirit of Hope program's Human Trafficking Messaging project
  • Teaching workshops on painting, beadwork, and dentalium shell earrings
  • Designing murals for Big Island First Nation and other local organizations
  • Learning traditional crafts like moccasin-making from Grandmother Stella Tuesday

I'm grateful for the support of programs like Shooniyaa Wa-Biitong's self-employment initiative, which helped me launch my business in 2023. Now, I'm excited to connect with others and explore new creative opportunities.

Let's create something beautiful together!
